Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?

DIY necklace, F21 sweater, Ecote skinny belt, Thrifted pants, Joan&David booties, Cartier Love Bracelet, F21 bracelet

I can't believe it almost October already! Time is flying like crazy. Can you tell that I had October and November in mind with this outfit? I fell in love with these pants when I saw it at Goodwill a couple of weeks ago. It made me think of Zara's Spring/Summer 2011 collection. I'm really late on color blocking train but better late than never, no? The picture doesn't really do them justice.

On another note, I have a real cool things on tap for this little blog and my shop. I'll keep you all posted!

DIY Inspirations

It's become pretty clear how much I'm diggin' chunky necklaces lately (check out my past DIYs HERE, HERE, and HERE). Lately, with all of the arm parties goin' on I've been inspired to do something more ambitious. I'd like to join the neck party (I don't know why but that just doesn't sound as cool as "arm party"...*awkward silence*...). How awesome is the necklace that Duma is wearing in the last picture?! (Nice save huh?) :D

A Sort of Bumble Bee

F21 skirt, vintage high-waisted jeans, thrifted wedge heels

My sister made this recent purchase at F21 that was just so great and I thought I'd play dress up and see what I could pair it with. Leave it to me to see if I could wear the skirt as a tube top... I'm always sold on an article of clothing if it has potential for multiple functions. (Excuse the picture above, it was my attempt at being sassy...FAIL.) I also just realized that yellow seems to be my color of the month.

All Yellow

F21 tshirt and skirt, Ecote Skinny belt, Old Navy flats, DIY chain bracelet (HERE), Cartier inspired bangle

I felt like dressing simply yesterday and in the process came across a yellow skirt that would inspire my entire outfit for the day. (To think, I almost gave this skirt away because I couldn't find more interesting ways to wear it. I am so glad I didn't!) I also haven't done a matchy outfit since I was kid and I thought I'd give it a try. It's definitely a welcomed changed from my usual jeans and tshirts. How about you, are you doing the single color outfits these days?

Pixie Hair Cut

Hi folks! As I've mentioned in my previous post I've cut my hair. This is the shortest I've ever gone and let me just say how liberating it is! What do you think?

Transitions

H&M sweater and jeans, ALDO platform heels, Ebay bag, Rayban tortoise wayfarers

I was so excited with how chilly it had gotten last Sunday morning that I designed my church outfit around a light sweater. I was hoping it would be like that the whole day, but as I had expected of SoCal weather it got pretty warm that I had to take off my sweater. Boo. I guess you could say that this is a transition from summer to fall kinda outfit.

I also wanted to share what my little sister wore that same day because it was just so California chic. I am now in want of a striped maxi dress for myself.

Any suggestions where I can snag myself one for a great price?

In other news: I've cut my hair folks! It's a hairstyle I've wanted to try out for years and I finally summed up the courage to do it. I will share pics soon.

Nachos

Tshirt Orgy shirt (worn HERE), Vintage Cutoff Denim, Free People bag, Vintage ankle boots, Rayban Aviators

Had the perfect lunch date with my mama over the weekend! We were craving some nachos so we headed off to Baja Fresh. Boy did it hit the spot! They have this mango salsa that is just my favorite!! We then proceeded to do some looking around Ventura Blvd. by heading off to Handmade. I just love that store because it always inspires me to be more creative.

Finally we found ourselves at Target where I landed myself a copy of The Help at %20 off cover price!! Sweetness! After I saw the movie with my mom, I just had to get myself a copy. I usually don't like to see the movie than read book but it was really spur of the moment. If you haven't seen it, you should! Any of you read the book? What ya think?!

DIY Twig Bangles

Um, this was just too brilliant NOT to repost! Geneva of A Pair and a Spare shared the most amazing DIY where she made a few bangles out of a few twigs. I have been lusting over a few twig rings and bracelets that were a bit out of my price range. Now, I could just make my own! Sweet!

Mozy on over to her blog for the how-to on this DIY.

Kind of a Beachy day.

Apologies for not posting very much. My life has been pretty up and down for the past couple of months... To get my mind off a few things, I thought I'd do a long overdue post.

DIY Sleeveless Tshirt, Flea Market shorts, Target sunglasses & sandals, F21 feather necklace, DIY Chanel bag HERE

The bf and I recently headed toward ZUMA beach to escape this horrible heat (100 degree kind of heat yo) we've been experiencing this whole week. The forecast says that it will finally start to cool off to the 80s. You can't imagine how excited I am for some Fall weather to kick in! We really had fun just sitting on the sand watching the tide come in. Can you believe it was my first time being to beach all summer?! I know right? I don't know what took me so long.

P.S. Thanks to those who have stuck around!
