Oscar 2011 Picks

Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the Oscars due to work and studying so, I thought I though I'd share some of my favorite Oscar looks.

(These set of purple outfits were by far are my favorite of the night because I found them to be all so interesting and unique. Each dress is exactly on the right person.)

(Cate Blanchett's dress this evening is by far my overall outfit of the night. The detail of the dress and her styling is impeccable. I don't think anyone else could've pulled it like she did.)

(Reese Witherspoon's was so cute and fun! Her whole outfit reminded me of the first glamor Barbie from the '60s. I love how Reese takes fashion risks at every red carpet event.)

...and...My favorite Couple Outfits of the night!

What were some of your favorite looks?

DIY: Lace Lounge Pants

INSPIRATION:

RESULT:

I often see Ashley Tisdale wearing sweats but after I her wearing a pair of Michelle Jonas' drawstring pants--I just couldn't get them off my mind. When I found out they were pretty pricey ($209), I was determined to make this my new DIY project. I know that this is more of a spring/summer DIY but I just couldn't wait to post this up and share! ahh! I also can't wait till spring so I could start wearing it. They are so easy to make too!

What you'll Need: lounge pants, about two yards of lace trim, scissors, sewing machine or a needle and thread

TIP: Using the sewing machine makes the process much faster.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut your pants into three parts.

2. Before joining the pieces, trim the pants so that your pants ultimately fit to
your liking.
3. Now, take your lace pieces and sew them in between the pieces you've cut
connecting them as you go.

There you have it!

a few of my favorite things...

UUUUUGH! To no surprise it's started raining again here... Of course, it's not supposed to let up for a week or so. Along with constantly feeling stressed out and exhausted because of school, this weather is NOT helping me. All this weather makes me want to do is wear sweats and stay in bed watching some of my favorite shows. Here are some of my favorite things that make me happy regardless of the dreary weather. Not in this order of course.

BUBBLE TEA!

...and this guy!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Walking on trees

vintage denim jacket, target cargo pants, vintage tank, DIY tangled necklace

There is this gorgeous clearing on campus with crazy tall trees that make me feel even shorter than I am. It often baffles me why I don't see it more crowded, it's so beautiful and peaceful. Chris and I like to take a walk over there when we want to take a pause. It's pretty isolated that I can't help it but treat it like my own personal playground...as you can see. Halfway through the week people! woot!

Honestly...Wtf DIY: Braided Nut Bracelet

Brilliant! Never thought I could accessorize with some everyday hardware. I will HAVE to try it soon. It inspires me to want to take that extra walk down the hardware aisle at the grocery store or stop by Home Depot. Click HERE for instructions on who to make this.

that's what i'm waitin' for darlin'

(rayban wayfarers, free people sweater, forever21 jeans, Ebay booties)

I hope you are all having a great President's Day Weekend. It FINALLY stopped raining here! I couldn't help but tell the boyfriend that I wanted to go out today so we could soak up the bit of sun there was today. Plus, it was a great excuse to wear my new booties! We ended up driving down to the coast. It was so gorgeous out there (hence the overload of pictures...lol.) that I think I could've stayed out there all day. It was a good end to a three day weekend.

P.S. Apologies for wearing this sweater waaay too much, but it's so darn comfortable and warm!

Are you what I think you are?!

Sorry for being M.I.A. in terms of blogging... School has once again consumed my life. Just wanted to drop a note and share my most recent purchase from Ebay. Check out my Isabel Marant inspired booties!! You have no idea how jazzed I am about these bad boys! They are not bad knock-off huh? I have yet to wear them out because the weather here has been awful!! It's been raining for a week straight! I hope you are all enjoying your weekends. Anybody doing anything exciting?

DIY: Sunglasses Display

With my growing collection of sunglasses, the boyfriend has pointed out that it probably isn't the best idea for me to be throwing them into a drawer. (ha!) Also, if you are like me and every college student, you often find yourself in need of space saving organizational methods. Here's a super simple way to free up some space in your drawer. Forget about buying a sunglasses holder!

All you need is:

Directions:
Put up two rows of thumb-tacks about two inches apart horizontally and vertically. (The spacing is really to your discretion).

(I found that slightly angling the thumb-tack helps hold the sunglasses better.)

BAM! A sunglasses display and holder!

Note to self, refrain from buying anymore sunglasses... But they're so pretty! *sigh* Happy Friday All!
