Beckett

Urban Outfitters Silk Blouse, Forever21 jeans, vintage Joan&David Oxford Heels

Seriously...How is it already Monday? lol. This outfit was brought to you by the character, Detective Kate Beckett, from the t.v. show "Castle." Her fall wardrobe has consisted of an array of collared buttoned ups. I myself have never worn my blouses buttoned all the way to the top. Since, collars seem to be all the rage season...I thought why not give it a try? What do you all think?

Also, sorry for the weird color differences. The close up shots is actually the real color of the blouse. I don't know why it looks darker in shots from a distance even with flash.

This is called a Scrumpdiddlyumptious Bar

I am so into this chocolate right now. It is a butter biscuit encased in a milk chocolate. mmmmm! As you can see, I have a chocolate addiction.

You can only imagine my excitement when I found a baby version of this chocolate... I know I know I am a freak. lol.

DIY: Bejeweled Bib Necklace

This past Christmas, I was determined to make a few of the presents I would be giving away to my close girlfriends. I have been eyeing bejeweled bib necklaces for some time now and thought...why not give it a try. It's pretty simple but a bit time consuming.

What you'll need: felt of your color choice, gems, glass beads, sequins, scissors, fabric glue, thread

Directions:

1. Take your gems and without gluing them down plan out the design of your
necklace.

2. Glue down the gems you can.

3. Cut around the outermost gems leaving about a millimeter of felt from the gem.
4. Sew in the glass beads, sequins, other gems (some come with holes) to fill in
the empty spaces.

5. Take some ribbon and sew it to the ends.

There you have it! You very own bejeweled bib necklace that can be trown on any outfit for that extra pizzazz!

Tip: If you don't want all of those threads in back to be seen, trace out a piece of cloth of the same size and shape and glue it over the back.

I had some leftover felt and jewels and made some earrings too!

Happy Weekend Ya'll!

DIY: Denim Vest

Inspiration:

Cue *LIGHT BULB!* Why not make a denim vest out of an old denim jacket that I could then throw over my leather jacket? All I can say is, thank God I didn't toss out that old denim jacket that sadly had been hanging in my closet next to it's replacement for quite some time now.

Just take a pair of sharp scissors and snip off the sleeves where the hems begin at the shoulder.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

This way I could this vest over tops, t-shirts, and dresses in the like.

DIY: Paper Jewelry

My mom taught me this cool way to make your own beads out of paper that she learned how to do when she was younger. It's pretty simple.

Materials: ruler, pencil, some sold magazines, scissors, glue and anything you need to make your jewelry (i.e. string, jewelry wire and pliers)

Directions:
1. Trace out/Cut long triangular strips from magazine paper

NOTE: However wide, narrow, and long your strips are will dictate how big your
beads will be.
2. Take the widest end of the strip and start rolling it TIGHT.
3. Glue the ends to secure the bead is nice and tight.
Voila! You have some cute beads to make some jewelry!

It's pretty amazing what you can do with paper! What do you all think?

Happy Friday Everybody!
