Punch the Heart

So this here is an outfit I wore somewhere in the month of February with the intention of using it for a Valentine's Day post. But of course I suck at making timely, consistent posts. Better late than never right? I had a great day that super mellow, filled with those I heart and lots and lots of chocolate of course! Thought I'd end my post with a picture of me on a motorcycle. I mean it's only appropriate right? Who hasn't fascinated about riding away into the sunset with a boy. (Only I'd be the driver.) Tell me tell me, how was your Valentine's Day?

DIY: Embroidered Journal/Notebook

Here's a little DIY to keep you busy during these cold days while you're watching re-runs of your favorite TV show, underneath your favorite blanket, and sipping some tea. High five for those with grandma tendencies!! No? Allright then.

What You'll need: thin needle, pencil, embroidery string, scissors, Moleskin notebook

1. Start out by sketching your design.

2. Then sew over your sketch with your embroidery string.

BoooOOM! You now have a pimped out notebook/journal!

RESET + a little DIY

Hey lovelies! Remember me?! It feels like I've been hiding under a rock for ages hasn't it? For those of you who have been following me, you may know that I have been feeling all sorts of uncreative. I went through a combination of "It's been done before," "why would any care about what you have to say," and "why would you post that." I won't bore you all with the details but as you can see it's really all very "Tales of a Drama Queen."

While writing my New Year's Resolution list I decided it's high time to start blogging again without inhibition. I had started this blog with the sole objective to create a place for myself where I can place my creative tensions, inspirations, and ideas. New Years entails a sense of renewal and reorganization so I thought it be appropriate to share a quicky organizational DIY. It's not only a great way to recycle but to display your arm swag. I think it makes me look like a fabulous fashion hoarder, no?

Materials: Empty bottles (any color of various sizes), or jars

Directions: Fill to your hearts content!!

Sorry for the lengthy post but I felt the need for such a post prior to a regular scheduled program. Happy New Year's folks! I've missed you!

DIY Revamp: Two-Tone Oxford Shoes

I thought I'd give an old pair of black oxfords a new lease on life by putting a little paint on them!

What you'll Need: Pair of oxfords, flat-head paint brush, gloss enamel paint (any color) painter's tape (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Pick the areas you want to paint (use your painter's tape to create clean lines).

Paint away!

(TIP: I chose a glossy enamel white paint so that when it dries it will match the texture of the shoe and so that it ends up being waterproof.)

Voila! Now you are ready to "t-t-t-tip on the tightrope"!

I've been such a bad blogger that I have accumulated a collection of nail art DIYs that I've done but have yet to post. So, I thought I just post in bulk as a sort nail art inspiration. Let me know if you would like me to post a tutorial on a specific one...

The Underwear Debate

INSPIRATION:

I was in the mood to give some light layering a try yesterday which resulted in you know...wearing some underwear on top of my clothes--naturally.

Do you think this is a trend that should be circulated? Wearing undergarments on top of your clothes like some of our forefathers? As you can tell, I'm in 100 percent support of this movement.
