DIY: Floating Christmas Ornaments

I have to give credit where credit is due. My mom thought of this one and just helped execute the idea. It's the perfect fix for the extra ornaments you may not have used for your Christmas tree. How amaze is this?! She's so brilliant!

What You'll Need:
transparent string
clear thumb tacks
scissors
ornaments ($2 @ Big Lots)

Directions:
1. Take a piece of the transparent string and tie one end of it around an ornament.

2. Take the other end of string and tie it around the thumb tack twice to secure it.
3. Push the tack into the ceiling.

Voila!

What do you think?

DIY: Foiled Nails

With the holidays around the corner (insane right?!), I can't help but fall in love with all that is glitter and gold. What perfect way to celebrate that with some gold foiled nails! Inspired, none other, than by the foiled fashion trend.

Materials:

clear top coat nail polish
nail polish of choice
gold flakes
1 earring post (with blunt end)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Paint your nails and allow it to completely dry.

2. Take a gold flake and flatten it onto your nail with the blunt end of an earring post.

3. Then, paint your nail with a clear topcoat (to protect and secure the flakes).

and...BAM!!!

(Sorry the condition of these photos and messy look of my nails. This was a spur of the moment DIY and I also didn't have anymore nail polish remover. :( A few washes of the hand eventually removes the polish left on the skin. But you get the idea.)

These are just a few snapshots of what I wore to work this past week. The only exciting things about it was my peacoat and top. Go figure I'm wearing black AGAIN. Sorry for this boring post... I promise I will post up a DIY soon.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Nothing like Sweater Weather

(hehe...you can see the bf taking my picture)
Cheap Monday knit sweater, Zizibeh tank top, Levi boyfriend jeans, Colin Stuart sandals, F21 bag

This was taken this past week when I needed to run a few errands but was feeling a bit under the weather. Loose light knit sweaters and torn up boyfriend jeans are my go to faced with such a combination for the day.

Hey ya'll, it's getting real cold out and I'm loving it!!!

DIY: Chain Headpiece

This project sprouted from me just rummaging through my craft box and trying to organize it yesterday night as I watched my shows. As a result, I didn't take pics of my progress because I wasn't quite sure how it would turn out. (Please leave me a comment if directions seem unclear and would like more tips.) This a great way to make use of that excess chain you may have lying around.

Materials:
approx. 2 feet of chain
pliers
wire cutters
1 earring post

Directions:
1. Roughly measure how much chain(s) you would like for your headpiece. Prep them by cutting them out.
2. Take earring post and make 2 small circles (these will serve as the connecting pieces between the strands).
3. Take what will be the top piece of your headpiece and attach the circles you just made to both ends.
4. Take the other two chains and connect them to the circles.

Tip: You may want to add another of strands to the sides. To do so just reopen the connecting circles and attach more strands accordingly.

How is it Monday?!
