DIY: Lace Lounge Pants

INSPIRATION:

RESULT:

I often see Ashley Tisdale wearing sweats but after I her wearing a pair of Michelle Jonas' drawstring pants--I just couldn't get them off my mind. When I found out they were pretty pricey ($209), I was determined to make this my new DIY project. I know that this is more of a spring/summer DIY but I just couldn't wait to post this up and share! ahh! I also can't wait till spring so I could start wearing it. They are so easy to make too!

What you'll Need: lounge pants, about two yards of lace trim, scissors, sewing machine or a needle and thread

TIP: Using the sewing machine makes the process much faster.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut your pants into three parts.

2. Before joining the pieces, trim the pants so that your pants ultimately fit to
your liking.
3. Now, take your lace pieces and sew them in between the pieces you've cut
connecting them as you go.

There you have it!

  1. I noticed that the inspiration picture has lace trim at the waist. I can't think how to get a drawstring in there elegantly. Perhaps interwoven on the lace? how tough is lace?

    Any ideas?

  2. You have a very keen eye. Perhaps the drawstring could be interwoven between the holes that are already on the lace. Lace is contradictory, tough yet delicate. I wasn't too sure if I should put lace on the waist...maybe I should. Thanks for the feedback Cesar!
