The weather up here in the Bay Area has been so unpredictable. During the week we will have 70-80 degree weather then all weekend it will rain cats and dogs. I hope you are all enjoying more consistent Fall weather.

DIY: House of Harlow 1960 Jewelry p.2
I hope you all had a great and safe Halloween Weekend! Can you believe it is already November?! I am soooooo excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas!! Love love love this time of year! Here is another DIY project for you all. I kind developed this through experimentation...
Materials:
Piece of cardboard, Scissors, Flat round object (e.g. quarter), black and gold paint, glue gun, bendable wire, clear nail polish, gold chain
Directions:
1. Trace the round object onto the cardboard and cut it out.
2. Draw the star onto the cardboard.
3. Spread some hot glue onto the round cardboard and let it dry for a couple of minutes. (This creates a base for your paint to latch onto.)
4. Paint center of the star with black and the outer portion with your gold paint. (This may require a few coats.) Let paint dry.
5. Put a coat of the clear nail polish on pendant. (This makes your pendant look not only shiny but makes it waterproof. It is important you let this dry for an hour or so.)
6. Pierce the top portion with a pin and put bendable wire through and make loop.
7. String in your chain.
There you have it! You have another House of Harlow 1960 necklace!

DIY: House of Harlow 1960 Necklace

Finally finished my first round of midterms! I really hope I did ok. :/ Anyway, what better way to celebrate then with a new DIY project--House of Harlow 1960 Necklace.
This necklace was inspired by none other than Nicole Richie and Spring line of House of Harlow jewelry. I was already impressed with her first set of pieces, but this second one blew me out of the water. I couldn't get the prints out of my mind. It's very consistent with her design aesthetic, but has a little more spunk to it. Unfortunately, these pieces are out of my price range. So I decided to try making myself something similar. It took a bit of experimenting, but I'm happy with the outcome. It isn't as polished and refined as I would like it to be, but it's ok.
Materials: Duct Tape (any color), earring posts, hot glue gun, acrylic paint
1. Make the form of a diamond with the earring posts.
2. Wrap duct tape around the posts and trim the edges.
3. Take the glue gun and carefully make jagged edges on the duct tape. Then let the glue harden for a few seconds.
4. Paint the zigzag lines any color you want.
Now you have yourself an accessory that adds that cool pop!

DIY: Sky
Well this idea just came to me after spending so much time indoors studying, doing homework and writing papers... lol. I often caught myself looking at my bare walls searching for words to write and often thought that I rather be out and about enjoying the sun before it disappears as it tends to do in the Bay Area. Solution? Making your own sky!!
Materials: Blue Cellophane (Target, Michaels, any craft store), Cotton balls (CVS, Wallgreens for a whole bag), Scissors, Tape
1. Lay out cellophane on the surface you want with tape
2. Strech-out, Fluff cotton balls and clump together for various sizes
3. Then stick it on the cellophane with some tape
TIPS: Try out attaching the clouds to some invisible string and attach to a push-pin to hang from the ceiling to give your clouds more depth!
